Frying oil is potentially aggressive for environmental contamination, mainly for soil and groundwater.
However, this residue may present itself as a raw Material for the production of soap.
This work is the experience report of the discipline of integrating projects of the last period of
the technical course in agriculture. The oil collection was carried out in 4 restaurants in the
city of Campo Maior-Piauí. A total of 60 liters of frying oil were collected weekly. The oil was
taken to the laboratories of the Technological Vocational Center in Agroecology and Organic
Production of IFPI and transformed into soap. The soap obtained was used for distribution
among students and visitors as well as for the hygiene of IFPI’s laboratories and restaurant.
There was also a sample of the “Agroecological Soap” of the students involved, demonstrating
the production of this material.
