The objective of this work was to perform the morpho-agronomic characterization of traditional cassava varieties cultivated by the farmers of the Arari River region of Itacoatiara. Proper characterization and documentation allow for more rational use in national breeding programs, facilitating the exchange of genetic information and genetic information. For morpho-agronomic evaluation, the botanical material (leaves, stem, root) was collected randomly for each variety found in agroecosystems. The cultivation of the varieties has been done for many years, through a process of multiplication of genetic material through the plantations in the patchwork of miscellaneous type, and of the diversification of material the seed exchange takes place among the farmers of the community itself. Not all varieties are grown to the same degree. Those that are more productive and produce a pulp of better quality are the most cultivated. The varieties of manioc bravas found in the micelanias of the farmers were: amarelinha, good future, Corací, Coroá, purple guide, Jamundá, Jabuti, Maniva branca, Roxinha, Tracajá, Tucunaré and the manioc varieties: Amarga, Butter, Nambu, Pão, Roxa, which make up the main source of income of the community.
