Abstract

The present work aims to describe the experiences carried out in schools of basic education, using workshops, extraclass classes and activities in the school garden, as an auxiliary tool in science teaching, highlighting the individual reports that demonstrate the importance of dynamic activities in the promotion of environmental education and agroecological practices in elementary education, capable of stimulating students' interest in subjects that are often considered uninteresting. The activities were carried out by students of the Licenciatura degree in Agricultural Sciences, scholarship holders of the Institutional Program of the Initiation to Teaching Grant - PIBID between 2014 and 2018, in three elementary schools in the Municipality of Seropédica, RJ. The PIBID was fundamental for the university extension and for the teaching-learning process of the students, since it made possible the accomplishment of those activities that served as an instrument to facilitate teaching.
