Abstract

The Food Acquisition Program (FAP), which came into force on June 2, 2003, provided for in article 19 of Law 10.696, characterizing its main purposes, which is to offer access to quality food and the incentive to strengthening family arming. The Ministry of Social Development describes six ways of acquiring food. The work was developed with the collaboration of the Secretariat of Planning and Economic Development in the Department of Agriculture of the Municipality of Uruçuca, in the Southern Coast of Bahia, aiming to implement agroecological practices in rural properties in the Municipality of Uruçuca, which provide food for the FAP, through tools rapi and participatory processes in order to bring about improvements, diversification and the quality of products delivered. Sustainable development for farmers in the region has to come through trade strengthening procedures from local production.
