Abstract

Agrotoxic are products developed to control pests and diseases in agriculture. Currently, the use of these products is increasing, due to the release of new substances for the same purpose, mainly in the last semester. Chlorpyrifos is an insecticide of the class of organophosphates, being highly toxic and harmful to health, causing cholinergic syndrome. In this work, high-performance liquid chromatographs commercialized in Seropédica were analyzed in order to find traces of chlorpyrifos and quantify it. High values were found in some samples, confirming the efficiency of the analytical method and informing the indiscriminate use of the chemical.
