Abstract

Quintal de Pedra is a model of an agroforestry system that involves the arboreal component and techniques of sustainable production, strengthening the tradition and its social, cultural and economic values. The objective of the experiment was to identify and support family farmers with the ability to produce healthy food, thus promoting the management of knowledge about sustainable good practices in the generation of the economy of processes and services at low cost, based on applied participatory methodologies by the ATER service. The used method was used in a semiarid environment with low water scarcity, being denominated of stone backyards, constituting a variation of agroforestry yards, establishing one of the pillars for the development of the production in organic management, at the same time that it prepares the property to the other challenges of extending the system to a more complex integration. The experiment was initially tested in the village of Periquito, in Nossa Senhora da Glória, Sergipe, in a small agricultural area, with a strong focus on social inclusion, involving a family farmer, former garbage collector, using participatory methodologies, and demonstrations of methods, some techniques of biotechnology have been tried successfully, among them, we can mention: (a) the use of organic ensiled compound with sawdust residues; (b) organism of pure local microfauna diluted in the water of bird ingestion; (c) bone meal + coconut shell ash (d) foliar fertilization of rock meal and bacillus subtilis cultures; (e) rock meal in bird feed enrichment; (f) biotechnology liquid fertilizers; (g) organic waste underground. The introduction of techniques for the generation of sustainable goods and services combine elements of preservation and conservation of natural biological heritage and maintenance of existing natural resources, directly affecting income generation, with the development of productive activities in different seasons of the year .
