Aspects about product acquisition at the organic fair in Santarém-PA

The search for the consumption of healthy and sustainable food grows considerably, as well as
the need to generate information in organic agriculture. Thus, the objective of this study was to
understand the behavior of consumers of the EMATER Organic Fair in Santarém-PA, generating
information on the bottlenecks of local organic production. A semi-structured questionnaire
was set up with 20 consumers on a fair day, proceeding to the tabulation, analysis and plotting
of data in a graphical and tabular form. It was found that 60% of respondents considered the
prices practiced to be good; 65% would be willing to pay 10% more to buy organic food; 57%
feel difficulties with the low variety of products marketed; 86% of these products refer to foods
of the hortifruti type; and 68% of foods not found refer to fruits. Therefore, it is still necessary
to strengthen the local organic market.
