The present work is a result of the experience stage carried out by the Agrarian Connections of Knowledge (PET) Agrarian Connections Program, linked to the Agrarian Residency Program of the Federal University of Ceará, at the Vida Nova Aragão settlement, located in Miraíma-Ceará. In rural settlements, as in many sectors of society, the recurrence of female labor and its contribution to income generation is still recurrent. Thus, the objective of the work is to report and analyze a food processing workshop taught by university students, aimed at a group of women settled. This extensionist action was beneficial to the settlers because they were able to learn new recipes and improve the ones they already knew. In addition to the possible creation of a cooperative in the confectionery industry, thus generating not only economic, but also social and organizational impacts, broadening and putting into question the discussion of gender and sexual division of labor in the field.
