Abstract

The present teaching project, qualitative, based on Paulo Freire to enrich the training of rural educators, of the Degree Course in Field Education at the Federal University of Big Dourados, applying the alternative extractor to extract essential oil of lemon grass as sustainable experimental classes at Field of the School. It was distributed with the class 2015 during University Time. Then it was presented at the Sidrolândia seed fair during Community Time (headquarters / field in the school). The main objective was to unite the knowledge of the community with the knowledge of academics, giving a new meaning to chemistry in the area of Natural Sciences discussed in the education of / in the field. In this perspective, the problematized experimental procedure fostered dialogicity in the construction of specific scientific knowledge, inducing critical formation and the autonomy of teachers.
