Agroecological workshops as a strategy for education and environmental recovery

Abstract

This report aims to share the educational experiences of the CFH Woodland Environmental
Recovery Project, located on the campus of the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Florianopolis.
The project aims to combine agroecological education and environmental recovery
throught permaculture way, using popular pedagogy and agroecological agroforestry systems
as the main tools. The educational activities presented were developed under a pedagogical
perspective of problematical of the socio-environmental reality and collective construction of
knowledge, valuing the dialogue and the knowledge of the subjects involved. In 2016, six educational
workshops were held, which addressed topics related to agroecology, and counted
on the participation of students, University employees and community members, providing
opportunities for living, practicing and exchanging knowledge.
