Agroecology: garden as a science laboratory at Frei Fabiano Merz School, Santarém - PA

Abstract

This paper reports on the experience of planning and construction of a vegetable garden at
the Frei Fabiano Merz Santarém-PA school, in order to explain themes about the concept of
environment and basic axes of agroecology for the students of the institution. It was observed
that the construction of a garden in a school environment with the proper participation of the
administration, as well as of the students, provided positive transformations for their development
in relation to issues related to the environment and organic system of production.
