Abstract

The objective of this work was the construction of knowledge directed to the education of the
field from an agroecological perspective, fomenting the development of these areas in the municipality
of Lagoa de Itaenga - Pernambuco. Agroecology emerges as a scientific discipline
that contributes to the valorization and strengthening of the identity of educators and students
in the education of the Brazilian countryside. The project was carried out in the rural area of the
municipality of Lagoa de Itaenga, Pernambuco, based on the methodology of action research
involving three coordinators, one responsible for the itinerant library and 40 teachers who work
in 11 rural schools. Educators have appropriated and contextualized the knowledge with their
realities, awakening to a transformative action that goes through a continuous formation of the
educators of the field and that allow the analysis, reflection, discussion and construction of
strategies for positive interventions in these places.
