Abstract

The National University of Colombia, In fulfillment of its mission of extension and specifically
the Called “solidarity”, has led the agroecology investigation group (Palmira) to work with the
agroecological peasant community to execute projects that fit their realities.
The realization of visits to family farms in the agroecology course of the undergraduate of
agronomic engineering, led to know their needs and them as part of the Network of peasant
agroecological markets of Valle del Cauca, They opened spaces for the realization of different
projects, Which through participatory methodologies have contributed to their productive
strengthening and of some of the Network’s markets and in their execution have facilitated
the performance of degree work, Professional practices and theses at the undergraduate and
postgraduate level, highlighting the importance of joint work between academia and family
agroecological agriculture.
