Field education is a challenge for many teachers, emphasizing that the training and projects
that are developed in rural schools are the same as those of urban schools, provoking in teachers
the need to seek tools to address the reality of students. The present work is the result
of an extension project carried out in three rural schools in the municipality of Lagoa de Itaenga-
PE, involving eight teachers of rural education. Participatory tools, dialogue and workshops
were used to promote spaces for training and exchange of experience. This work aims to present
perceptions of the education teachers of the field of the municipality of Lagoa de Itaenga
through the perspective of the implementation of an agroecological school vegetable garden
as an interdisciplinary tool. Teachers reflected their methodologies and refined their approaches,
but the number of workshops was not enough.
