Abstract

The objective of the research was to reflect on the teaching methodologies adopted by the
sector of olericultura and production of organic fertilizers and its application in the educational
institution. The research was carried out through the application of questionnaires to the students
of the Federal Institute of Pará-Campus Castanhal and documentary analysis (research
papers, production notes and product donations). As a result of this evaluation, a positive
balance was observed in the use of organic fertilizers produced in the Campus, regarding the
introduction of these in the didactic methodologies of practical and theoretical classes, besides
the dissemination of knowledge of these products beyond the Institution’s borders. In addition,
it was observed the effective understanding of the institute’s students, teachers and technicians,
what are actually organic fertilizers and their advantages within the family agriculture of
Pará, as well as the satisfactory knowledge about the agroecological science that has been
disseminating more and more in the middle rural.
