Abstract

From the intense urbanization, the natural environments were replaced by artificial environments promoting a separation from the human being of nature. Gardening has been pointed out as a way of reconnecting to natural cycles. Scientific studies already point out the beneficial effects of gardening on our health, physical and mental state. In this work we seek to verify the effects of the practice of gardening on emotional aspects and in daily habits, using interview in a semi - structured questionnaire. Changes such as stress and anxiety reduction were observed, as well as modifications in eating habits and use of medicinal plants. In conclusion, it is possible to affirm that the practice of gardening is a path for reconnection and healing of the distance from society to nature.
