This work presents the results of the first research stage that aimed to identify certified organic
farmers in the Fruit Circuit, as well as the fruits produced by these farmers, whose practices
and processes are being systematized. The databases of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock
and Supply (MAPA) and the Natural Agriculture Association of Campinas and Region (ANC)
were consulted. The total of 44 farmers was identified. The largest number of farmers in the
municipalities of Itatiba, Morungaba, Jundiaí and Jarinu were the ones with the highest numbers
of farmers, Vinhedo and Louveira, presented the smallest numbers and Valinhos was the
only municipality that did not present any certified organic farmer. Certified organic farmers
cultivate 25 different types of fruits, with banana, strawberry, lemon and orange being the ones
with the highest occurrence of records. Although some fruits characteristic of the Circuit have
not stood out among the organic farmers, the systematization and socialization of practices and processes adopted by these organic farmers in the cultivation of fruit trees could potentiate
the agroecological transition of the production systems of the familiar farmers of the Fruit
Circuit.
